All successful lifters who
place in the top three in their respective age, weight, and event categories will have their names and lifts written on the BOARD OF CHAMPIONS for
at least one year.
Trophies will be given to the champion of each age group and the
CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS “THE BOZ”

The kids in the weight room, we were your song.
With us in the gym, you worked hard and long.
Always there,
with a “hips in” or “drive”
Your bellowing laugh made us all feel alive.
We will see you again, no matter how far.
But as long as we’re
here, we’ll keep loading the bar.
The 13-15 year old Champion will be known as the Frank "The Tank" Balestrieri Champion.
Frank, like Gery and Boz, was instrumental in my development as a weightlifter and a young man. Frank now joins his two friends to
be forever memorialized by this power meet. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
MEMORIAL POWER MEET
The Power Meet commemorates Gery Nicholas Wetzel. Although Gery is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in every kid who strives to do their best. His dedication to the young people of the his community was unparalleled. He used sports to guide us and teach us life lessons. Gery set an example for all of us by putting the children first and his contribution to his community will never be forgotten
